Does anybody know what Sun's official position is ? Is it still alive, but unsupported?
Is it officially dead? Will NeWS be part of the next version of OpenWindows?

thanx,

Some Sun France person said me that NeWS is dying, and that OpenWin4
will not include a NeWS server, but just an X11R6 server with Display
PostScript and PEX (?) extensions.

I understood that within a year (ie in middle 1993) NeWS will be dead
(since OpenWin4 will be out in mid93).
Requiescat in pacem.

I still hope (ie dream) that someone will design an X11 extension (much
like SHAPE, or PEX) that will make the server programmable, and that
this extension will become widely available and supported by
toolkits....
