I just received a flyer from Microsoft announcing Windows for Workgroups and "Access" . I was most interested in Access which was presented as the Microsoft database package to use under windows. It sounds like Access will eventually claim the same status as a Microsoft supported windows application like Excel and Word for Windows. My company has a strong thrust to adopt the microsoft applications line of s/w as the "official" set. Lacking other information, until this announcement, we had assumed that FoxPro would be the db of choice after it was purchased by Microsoft last summer. Since we are poised to start building a number of databases for upcomming projects, we would like to minimize the need to do any conversions later. So the question is: What is the story on ACCESS and how does it relate to Microsoft's purchase of FoxPro? ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Ken Fisher | kjf388%tijc02@uunet.uu.net Siemens Industrial Automation, Inc. | UUCP: uunet!tijc02!kjf388 Johnson City, Tn. 37605 | Phone: 615-461-2125 -------------------------------------------------------------------------
