Whatever happened to the RemoteHostRegistry dictionary, which maintains a list of remote host names authorized to connect to the xnews server? By putting the following clause in my .user.ps file, I conveniently used to be able to initialize this list under Openwindows V 2: RemoteHostRegistry begin /host1 true def /host2 true def etc. end This fails under OW V3. Adding "/NeWS 3 0 findpackage beginpackage" doesn't help, either. Any suggestions? Thank you in advance.

The authorization code was completely re-written for OWv3 to be more compatible with the X11 side and to provide a bit better security. (It now supports the user@domain instead of just host level checking.) The easiest way to add hosts now is to simply add an xhost or xauth command to your .xinitrc, or to create an /etc/X*.hosts file.
