/*----------------------------------------------------------* * OpenWindows 3.0 and XView Version 3 problem. * *----------------------------------------------------------*/ Fellow netters : I am seeking advice on how to de-activate the pop-up text edit menu that is associated with a multiline text field widget in XView. I have a panel with many panel items. Some of the items need to be able to properly handle MENU mouse events (e.g., choice lists using stack look and feel) while one item, the multiline text field widget, needs to ignore the MENU mouse events. This problem stems from the fact that I want a simple multiline text field for the user to enter text. I do not want them to be able to do all of the things that you can do with a text pane (e.g, cut/paste/save to a file). It seems that I can't get a handle to this popup text edit menu that is associated with the multiline text field. I've tried using an interposer function on the panel to ignore MENU mouse events but it doesn't seem to work for the multiline text field widget screen area. That widget seems to have a mind of it's own. I would really appreciate any help you might be able to give me. A solution to the problem would be ideal. But if not, maybe some direction on who to talk to or what to try next. If you respond could you please send me a copy of your response via email to the address RADerrod@lbl.gov. I have to log on to a different machine to read news and I often forget. I really would appreciate it. I will post a synopsis of all replies. If there are any other developers out there pursuing similar projects I'd love to discuss them with you. I'll gladly respond to email or phone calls.
