I have xmail running on my Suns and I wanted to get it going on the HPs (HP 9000s400 and HP 9000s700 running HP-UX 8.x). I got it to compile and link without errors, but the executable fails with the same error on both architectures. [66] kocrsw18: ./xmail xmail: Regular expression too long (item 0). [67] kocrsw18: It seems like it may be a BSD vs. SysV regular expression problem and since HP-UX tries to emulate both, it will compile. Since I haven't done regex programming before, I got lost in the source. Has anyone got this program working on HP-UX? I used the following defines: USE_DIRENT = -DUSE_DIRENT MAILBOX_DIR = -DMAILBOX_DIRECTORY=\"/usr/mail\" DEF_VISUAL = -DDEFAULT_VISUAL=\"/usr/bin/vi\" DEF_MAILER = -DDEFAULT_MAILER=\"/usr/bin/mailx\" I had to add -lBSD to resolve sigvec(). (Of course, I had to fix the makefile with the HP location of the X11R4 includes and libs :-) Thanks for any help!!
