HELP: phigs compiling

I'm getting compiling errors saying "PFLAG_ALWAYS", "Pint_style", and other
variables are undefined.  The code is an example from the Phigs Programming
Manual.  I've included phigs.h, and i've greped for these terms in all the 
.h files and .a files in the locker.  Where are these variables defined?
