First of all, I would like to thank everyone who responded to my previous
posting (PEXtk 1.0 Test Programs). It cleared some of my questions on using
PEX. However, I still have some problems with double buffering. It seems that
the test programs can only perform double buffering when the
Pset_display_buffer and Pset_update_buffer routines with the XFillRectangle
call are used instead of the Pbuffer_mode and the Pswap_buffers routines.
When I modified some of the test programs to use the Pset_display_buffer and
Pset_update_buffer routines instead, the programs worked fine. Could
someone please explain why this is happening? What's the underlying
difference between the two methods?
Another question: Is anybody familiar with the SunPEX 1.0? It is the Sun
Microsystems server extension implementation of the MIT Consortium PEX 5.0P
protocol. It requires Openwindows Version 3. Could I use the same APIs
(more specifically, PEXtk) on this server as in PEX-SI? How do I verify which
server is being used when I try to run a client? Additional information
on SunPEX 1.0 are welcome.
Thank you, again.
-Elsa
