On my Sun4 the same Problem occured. To solve it I removed the two Files
FontSelect and Colormap from the Makefile dependencies and compiled them
with
  gcc -c FonSelect.c and gcc -c Colormap.c
separately.

Afterwards I started make on the original makefile.
