Hi, I intend compiling X11R5 patchlevel 21 this weekend on a Sun 3/60. I have gcc-2.3.3, I noticed that usually if I set HasGCC in site.def, then the libraries and some other stuff are still built with cc. Gcc is used for the server code. Why is this? Can I use this (later) version of gcc? Also, if I need to interrupt the compile, do I have to do a make World again (& redo lots of stuff) or is a make everything ok? Any comments appreciated, (Email to .sig addresses preferred) Simon ------------------------------------------------------------------------ Simon Greaves | Janet: censjg@uk.ac.hw.clust Systems & Comms programmer | Internet: simong@festival.ed.ac.uk Computer Centre | Fax: +44 31 451 3261 Heriot-Watt University | Voice: +44 31 451 3265 Edinburgh EH14 4AS | Uk | "Pretty with hairy legs" --A.Belew
