For the source, check this out:
Host toklab.ics.osaka-u.ac.jp
Location: /X/X.V11R5/mit/demos
DIRECTORY drwxrwxr-x 512 Aug 27 1991 xeyes
Location: /X/X.V11R5/mit/demos/xeyes
FILE -r--r--r-- 4112 Jul 19 1991 xeyes.c
FILE -r--r--r-- 1463 Jul 30 1991 xeyes.man
The source for Xload is on export.lcs.mit.edu in
/pub/R5untarred/mit/clients/xload, and it includes several ways to get
the current load average on some systems. The way that I do it (on
Linux) is via the /proc filesystem. Makes the code much less
susceptible to change with kernel revisions.
