mysterious X warning on Suns

Last summer the sys admin here installed X11R6 (patch level 11)
on our network of Suns and ever since we've been getting the
warning:

"Failed to set keyboard lights: Interrupted system call"

on console whenever you hit the "Caps Lock" key.

We're running SunOS 4.1.4  on sparcstations of various sorts
(1's, 2's, 5's, 10's  it doesn't matter)

We're wondering if there's a fix for it and what causes it.

It's not a serious problem, just a mysterious one.
