			Disappearing Windows Problem

X Client: RS6000 AIX 3.1 Update Level 3003 (X11R3)
X Server: VAXstation 31000 Ultrix 3.1 UWS 2.1 (X11R3)

An X application running on a RS6000 and displaying on a VAXstation
suddenly looses its window. Sometimes the application terminates with an
"Broken pipe" error. The problem could be because of the event queue
getting full on the X server side. There have been times when there is
no user interaction on the VAXstation and the windows still disappear.
This situation seems to invalidate the event queue theory. In this case
could it be a time-out problem? Is there a hand-shake going on between
the client and the X server, such that if the client does not reply it's
windows get killed.  If so, how can the time-out period be changed.
Also, Is there a way to change the event queue length?

Any suggestions on how to debug the problem would be greatly
appreciated.
