Sometimes the application terminates with an #"Broken pipe" error. The problem could be because of the event queue #getting full on the X server side. There have been times when there is #no user interaction on the VAXstation and the windows still disappear. #This situation seems to invalidate the event queue theory. In this case #could it be a time-out problem? Is there a hand-shake going on between #the client and the X server, such that if the client does not reply it's #windows get killed. If so, how can the time-out period be changed. #Also, Is there a way to change the event queue length? # #Any suggestions on how to debug the problem would be greatly #appreciated. # If you have XSCOPE available, run it to see what was the last bit of information that was sent across the wire (either X protocol or X event). This should help in narrowing down the causes of the problem. To run XSCOPE try the following command: % xscope -v4 -hvax-host -d0 -o0 -i1 < /dev/null > xscope.log & % client -display localhost:1 By looking at the end of xscope.log you should be able to get a feel of what could be happening.
