Hi everybody,

I'm looking for informations about the connection of an IBM AS400 with a
Unix workstation, or a Unix PC running X-Window.
I would like to interface an application running on a AS400 with a 
platform running X-Window in order to enhance the man machine interface.
My first thought was to use a TCP/IP driver on the AS400 side in order to
link it to the workstation, and to use a terminal emulator to retrieve the
information on the workstation and then redisplay it using the graphic
environment facilities.
It seems that the TCP/IP driver for the AS400 is quite expensive (about
20000 $ in France), so that may not be the best solution.
Does anyone have any idea, or experience in this area ?

Any comments, suggestions, products names, ... are welcomed.
