Hi everyone, I was wondering what are the drawing requests that a client sends an X server to draw a certain area? To make my self clear I will give an example: Suppose we have a netscape window running on an X display. This netscape window has an animated gif which constantly changes. In this case, I believe that the server does not redraw the whole netscape window but only the animated gif area. Am I right? So which drawing request does the netscape window send the Xserver? How can I 'listen' to them if I want to? I need to know this because in my program I need to keep a window live and I do not want to redraw the whole window to make it live, but only the changes from one frame to the next. Any help or suggestions will be appreciated. Cheers, Shuky
