Dear all,
I've finally release version 4.02 of Xmris. It is available by ftp at ft.x.org
in the contrib directory. There are three files of relevence
xmris.4.02.tar.gz -- the full source
xmris.4.00-4.01.gz -- patch from version 4.00 to 4.01
xmris.4.01-4.02.gz -- patch from version 4.01 to 4.02
to apply the patches you will need patch.
here are the change files for the two patches
The 4.01 patch fixes some major bugs, the biggies being
*BSD signal handling was broke, BSD machines siezed up after one frame
*xmred could coredump on startup
*xmred would coredump when trying to give a warning
*you no longer have to give the .gdn to xmris to find a garden, and the
search path is extended.
The 4.02 patch just fixes a few minor typos and stuff that crept into the
4.01 patch.
Enjoy,
nathan
---CHANGES 4.01
XMRIS V4.01 changes from 4.00
some minor typos fixed
mismatched extern/static function declarations fixed
some casts put in to shut up compilers
bug found in scrollbar widget and workaround installed
xmred segfault on startup fixed (not enough room in nadger_widget_tree array)
Saved unsaved dialog segfault fixed
Redo/undo confusion fixed
Imakefile fiddled with to remove gnumake switch and dynamically
check that the make is kosher
Key detection on keycodes doesn't work when a keysym is bound to more
than one keycode. Keysyms used instead.
Iconizing with keyboard loses autorepeat.
ansiknr included after Intrinsic.h as sun's Intrinsic breaks CONST
the BSD signal handing was broke, and is now fixed. (I don't know,
V3 had broken SYSV signal handling. May be its impossible to have
source that works wth both BSD and SYSV :-)
xmred -h no longer says -sprites is an option
garden search path increased to include score directory
---CHANGES 4.02
XMRIS V4.02 changes from 4.01
typos in scoring.c fixed about locking_file
AllTarget removed from Imakefile, as its broke on too many systems
Imakefile checks some required macros, and makes them up if
they're not defined
Keys displayed for DEBUGEVENTLOOP
protected convert_string2color from NULL argument list

Why do people, when announcing version N of their pride and joy, always assume that *everyone* is familiar with versions 1 to N-1?

Sorry, I forgot to tell you, Xmris is a video game for the X window system. It comes with xmred, an editor for the game screens. Apparently its quite popular. nathan -- Nathan Sidwell INMOS UK | | nathan@pact.srf.ac.uk

I have an original "Mr. Do" board here next to me, I really LOVE this game and this X clone is really well done!!! Well... why don't you post it to this group or to the c.s.x one? There are some sites which do not have FTP access (mine for one)... BTW, keep up the good work, and apologies for posting in a sources group, but I just couldn't resist to follow up... No flame from me here - I'm grateful to everyone who makes stuff available for me and others to enjoy for fun or at work - but when you make announcements - pretty please - add a couple of lines to the top of the message saying what the program is... > typos in scoring.c fixed about locking_file so this is a game, right? I'll FTP it tonight then... -- Ove Hansen - Network Administrator e-mail: ove@neu.sgi.com Silicon Graphics Manufacturing S.A.
