I just built and installed R5 on my Amix box (SysVr4.0). Everything
weno ok so far except for one problem.

Whenever I try to get a shell in an xterm window, the xterm dies on my.
The diagnostic output is "Unlicensed user attempted to fork"
This goes for xterm -ls as well as xterm -e tcsh.
xterm -e ksh pops up, but dies when I enter the first command.

However, this only happens when I log into xdm. I can startx and
it will work, and I can launch xterms from the console after logging
in to xdm. Only xterms launched by .xsession or the window manager
die.

The previously installed R4 xterm has the same problem, as have rxvt
and the various shells. So I guess the culprit is xdm, X or their
configuration. (Both of them, as well as xterm, are setuid root, btw.)

Any help?

(An aside for fellow Amix users, when (if?) I get this sorted out,
I will make X11R5 available for downloading. It appears stable so
far. Support for the 2410 is forthcoming.)
