We have several DECstation 5000/xxx running ULTRIX 4.3 and PC's running SCO UNIX. We have a Motif-based application compiled for both systems. Some of the dialogs in this application contains XmTextField widgets. When this application is started using a local display (on either DEC or SCO), the <x] key (backarrow key) works as delete-previous-character, when you try to delete text in a XmTextField. If we try start the application on a SCO-system using a dislay on a DECstation the backarrow key works as delete-next-character instead of delete-previous-character as expected. If we try the other way around (from DEC to SCO - starting the client on a DECstation with the remote display on a SCO-machine) there's no problem (backarrow key works as delete-previous-character). The resourcefiles, read by the application, are identical on both systems (no translations set differently). On the DEC-keyboard, the backarrow key normally sends DEL (if not othervise reconfigured by the application). On the ansi-keyboard, used on SCO, the backarrow key sends Backspace. I want the backarrow to work as delete-previous-character in all cases. How do I remap the <x] key to work as delete-previous-character when the client runs on SCO using a display on a DEC-machine without affecting another incarnation of the same application (running on the same SCO-machine using a local display) or other applications (xmodmap cannot be used) ? Thanks in advance.
