I have been using a PC to communicate with a SLC 5/05 controller via the
ethernet port on the controller. I am running Windows NT 4.0 and connecting
with the SLC through a local area network using a hub. Communication with
the SLC works fine when using the hub and LAN but I need to eliminate the
use of the hub and connect with the SLC using a single cable from my PC. I
have attempted making the connection with a straight cable and what I
believe is a standard crossover cable for ethernet. neither of these cables
have worked and I am wondering if there are any changes that need to be made
to the networking setup in windows or if a single cable can replace the hub
and work. If anyone has any experience with this type of application please
contact me at
