TDS was founded in September, 1987 by Steve Chou and Bernie Musch. Both
had successful careers at HP, Bernie was R&D Manager for HP's Calculator
Lab and Steve was lead programmer. They first joined forces in 1985 as
principles of Firmware Systems, developing hand-held computer solutions
for clients using the HP 41C. TDS's market focus began with field data
   collection solutions for land surveyors.

At first the surveyors were reluctant to adopt new technology. With a
lot of sales work by TDS, it soon became customary to purchase a data
collector with every total station. Topcon America was the first
instrument maker to recognize the advantage of bundling the TDS data
collection software with their instruments. At a point when the
business was on its way to success, Bernie was diagnosed as terminally
ill with cancer. In 1992, David Scribner, long time friend, TDS Board
Member and ex-HP engineer, stepped in to take Bernie's place as
President. Steve Chou continues as the companies principle architect of
   TDS software and business strategies.

Today, TDS programs run on HP 48SX/GX, HP95/100/200LX, Husky FS/2 &
FC/486, and other PC portable and office computers. The company has 150
authorized dealers throughout the world and is working on extending its
   global distribution network.

Come to the meeting to learn more about Tripod Data System's success.
