Ok, let's discuss this. Ed Barlow-Pieterick is running for re-election. One of his stated goals is to "protect livability". However, his actions do not match his words. I consider livability to include not having to throw other people's trash away. I consider livability to include respecting other people's private property rights. Mr. Barlow-Pieterick, by his actions, does not. This evening I was forced to remove some of Mr. Barlow-Pieterick's campaign advertising from my property where it had been left two inches from an sign which says "No Solicitation, No Tresspassing. No Flyers, Handbills or Advertising." Do you see any ambiguity in that sign? Mr. Barlow-Pieterick does. "No" does not apply to him. Mr. Barlow-Pieterick cannot honor a simple, written request not to leave his advertising on someone else's property. He is the wrong person to have on the City Council, and I would hope that others will join me in voting this fellow out. At least, if you have been the victim of his paper spam, tell him what you think of such activity. If you need a second reason, consider the Riverfront Park development which he takes credit for supporting. This is a $13.1 MILLION dollar fiasco financed by Corvallis property owners to rebuild the recently rebuilt riverfront park. It will make 1st street even less usable than it is now, and tries to stop nature from doing what it is going to do anyway. If you doubt this, take some time to study what happens when people dump riprap on the beach in an attempt at protecticing their property. The short term effect is to cause worse problems for their neighbors. No on Ed, no on 2-68.

God controls the rivers and the oceans. Man controls the riverbanks. God ALWAYS wins.
