Being at Cornell, I must say that I have seen the same (maybe?) sign that 
got the first poster so worked up in Goldwin Smith. Now, at the time that I 
read the post, I was a little annoyed by the fact that the poster was rather 
strong in its use of language.  After reading the post by Rohan Oberoi, I 
see that as an atheist, (and yes, I bloody well know the difference between 
atheism and agnosticism, so don't ask.) many of the believes for the Society 
of Unbelief is similar to my own.  I'm pretty sure that if the post just 
stated the views of the society, it would have functioned much better as it 
was intended, and it also would not have attracted Mr. Hutchinson's fury (as 
I believe that _MOST_ people on campus are quite understanding on the 
religion of the others.  We are in this world to be informed, not to be 
assaulted by some generalizations "designed to produce rational discussion"  
It is rather hard to produce rational discussion when your blood is boiling 
from the post.  In that respect, I believe the poster was a mistake and 
therefore a failure.
