Just a quick message to let people know that the Cornell Lab of Ornithology's SPRING FIELD ORNITHOLOGY class still has a few spaces left for the (annual) "Special" Field Trip to Brigantine (Forsythe) NWR and Delaware Bay. If you think you might be interested in attending, here is the info: ===================================================== BRIGANTINE (Forsythe) NWR and Delaware Bay Field Trip 6am on Sat. May 5th to 10pm on Sun. May 6th For the (low, low...) price of $140.00 (private rooms are $30.00 extra), you get a top-notch field trip leader, a bus ride to and from NJ,motel accommodations on Sat. night, PLUS 2 meals (breakfast and lunch the 2nd day). Payments for the trip are due no later than Thursday, April 26th, but for $140.00, it's a REALLY great deal - you get a lot. For instance, you will get to see all kinds of great songbirds and shorebirds, and as a bonus, at Delaware Bay you will get to observe the Horseshoe Crab populations that are breeding on the beaches. We visit many areas, including Cape May, Ocean City, Jake's Landing, Reed's Beach, and the Belleplain State Forest. There is even a night hike for birds such as the Whip-poor-will, Chuck-wills-widow, and/or an owl! ===================================================== If you (and/or a friend) would like to go on this trip, either stop by the Lab and fill out a form at the front desk, or feel free to call Terry Mingle at 254-2452 to sign up using a credit card. The trip is a LOT of fun! Feel free to send an e-mail to the address below if you'd like to reserve a space for yourself and/or a friend. Be sure to include your name and a daytime phone number. Please note that the spaces on the bus will be filled on a first-come, first-serve basis, and as of today (Monday, 4/23), there are only 20 spaces left to fill on the bus. Thank you, Terry Mingle tpm2@cornell.edu 254-2452
