My kids inherited a fossil of a computer.  It's so old the local school would
not even accept it as a donation...lol.  For some odd reason the sound card is
missing.  Dead, shot, kaput, whatever.  I have all the parts plugged in
correctly (I love those color coded plugs!) and the computer seems to think it
should work, but when I troubleshoot I am told the sound card is missing and I
need to use the "recovery disk" to get it back.  Okay.  Fine.  Not a good
thing, since we will lose some things, but whatever.  So, I get out the lousy
disk.  Follow all directions perfectly.  Get the computer all booted back up. 
Still no sound.   *&%$#@!  The damn thing had sound BEFORE they inherited it,
did the puter lose it's voice  when we put it in the back of the car?  LOL. 
Was it a windy day?  Did it blow to some other town? The sound just *poof* was
gone.  Bummer too, because there are dozens of games for pre-schoolers for that
computer and while my son loves looking at the pictures he would also love to
know what the bear is saying when his mouth moves.  Hehehe.  He keeps cranking
up the volume then yelling "mama! putah bwoke!"  I tried loading the games on
here but they are for (don't laugh) windows 95 and my computer does not seem to
want to load them.  I am thinking of using a BFH on it and putting it out of my
misery. ;-)
