Wuz I posed to see sumtin rong wid dis bove postin?

Just joking. I don't know what is wrong with people today. My mom was an
English teacher and later a reading and language specialist...she would never
let us get away with "slang" or anything that seemed to convey illiteracy. I'm
funny though...I can talk the talk when I'm with my friends...but when I'm in a
situation where my language skills and/or writing skills are to be used, I use
them and use them well.

Typing? That's another story...sometimes I either think faster than I type or
vice versa, but I have a hard time conveying my feelings and therefore
continuously make errors in grammar and spelling.

Education is not important anymore for many people. I really do not know why.
It is extremely important, not only in the work place but important for esteem.

I love to hear an articulate person speak and I can think of a few from the
boards that I just love to read. You can tell that they value their education.

On the otherhand, some people are not in a position to get a good education, be
it school systems, parenting skills, whatever. It is also sad that people base
one's intelligence on the aspect of spelling and grammar. You can not gauge a
person's intelligence on this at all. There are many people in this world that
are illiterate, but have high IQs..its simply a matter of being taught to be
literate.
