religious post on THAT forum...anyway...here it is..

I am looking for advice and suggestions...I know that we all have our own
faiths, beliefs, etc...but there is a specific person in my life, who questions
the existance of God. She has recently opened up to me about this and I think
she is looking for me to guide her in someway. I know this because she has
never really talked about it, just comments here and there but yesterday she
continued a long conversation about this to me. Asking questions such as "If
God is a loving God then why does he make me suffer?", "If I'm being punished
by being ill, then why does my husband get punished as well (for having to take
care of her)?" and some other questions. I couldn't answer her questions, but
could only testify about things that have happened in my own life and that you
must walk by faith.

She said things such as the Bible, especially the Old Testament, are full of
mythology. She thinks that things like the "Burning Bush" did not really happen
but were added because people need to read things like that.

I do not want this to turn into religious debate...I am only looking for
suggestions to what I could tell her, what I could share with her (besides my
own experience). Thanks.
