Hi... I recently purchased a Creative ModemBlaster v.92 modem for a new
computer I'm building.   I haven't powered up yet (awaiting more parts) but
the first problem is the poor design layout for the sound connector on the
ModemBlaster v.92 card.  It's a generic 4-pin base, mounted perpendicular in
the middle of the card.  There's no marking or way to tell the #1 pin of the
male connector - and the 4-pin female sound cable connector will easily fit
facing either way.
   Then, the female cable connector, because of the way the generic male
4-pin base is mounted, rests hard against the next PCI slot card.  There is
no way to attach or detach a cable to the generic 4-pin base without
removing the ModemBlaster v.92 card from the PCI slot.  Definitely a poor
design.
   The sound connector should have been mounted flat onto the card surface
opposite the PCI slot, or on the end of the card opposite the card mount
rail.
   I find it unconscionable that Creative would even sell (and ship) a
product with such poor design on a vital part of the product.
   Has anyone else bought a ModemBlaster v.92? And, if so, did your product
have the same poor design, or was it a corrected version of the card?
