Has anyone had any luck at getting the MKE CR-563 CDRom to work from a clean
install? I have wiped the harddrive and am trying to install Win95 on a
Packard Bell PB-430A 486 SX computer that has a MKE CR-563 CDROM in it. I
cannot get the CDRom to work. I feel that it is a configuration problem. I
must not have something loaded in the AUTOEXEC.BAT or CONFIG.SYS files
correctly.

It keeps giving me this error:
SBCD001 : Interface board or CDROM drive is not ready
If CDROM Drive is not ready, please set or turn on.
<A>bort or <R>etry?
CDROM Device Driver is not installed.
Device Driver not found: SBCD000: No valid CDROM device drives selected.

Here is some information that I found on the web regarding this CDRom:

Matsushita Kotobuki Electronics (MKE) CR-563-B CD-ROM drive:
These are 2x drives which use a proprietary interface, not IDE. They must be
connected to the Creative/Panasonic 40 pin interface on a Sound Blaster 16
or SB AWE 32. The SBAWE32 card has three 40 pin interfaces! None of which
are IDE interfaces! First is Sony, second is Mitsumi, third is the
Creative/Panasonic which is used for the Matsushita Kotobuki Electronics
(MKE) CR-563-B CD-ROM drive. On the SB16 (not PNP) there is only one 40 pin
interface which supports this drive. Try to hook the "Creative" CR-563-B
drive to an IDE interface and itdoesn't work... So your only solution is to
get a SB16 or SB32 card that
has the proprietary interface that supports this CD-ROM, OTHERWISE THE CD
DRIVE IS AN OLD 2X PAPERWEIGHT. Lastly, the device driver to use omes with
the SB software. It is SBCD.SYS and it doesn't use an IRQ per se, (Note:
Creative TechSup says slow 2X drive doesn't need to). It talks using the
port on the SB sound card. The full command line is DEVICE=C:\SB16\SBCD.SYS
/D:MSCD000 /P:220.

If you have any experiece with this drive, please contact me.

Thanks in advance for any help.
