I just attempted to update my Win2K Pro install with the SP2 patch just
released. Lets Just say there is a Driver incompatibilty there some where.

I am running a AMD Athlon 1.2Ghz on a FIC AD11 Mobo with 256MB DDR (PC2100).

The 3D-Blaster Annihilator Pro (CT6971) with 32MB DDR.
Using Creatives Drivers for the Vid - Version 5.12.01.0634
DirectX Ver 8.0a

Anyway, what happens is after installing SP2 when ever DirectX tries to
initialize Direct3D hardware acceleration mode the Machine just resets and
boots all over again. I attempted to launch 2 games that use Direct3D and
also ran DXDiag.exe. Same results no matter the application that initializes
Direct3D Hardhare Accelerated.

Luckily I choose to keep a backup on the system files when updating to SP2
for Win2K so I could revert to SP1. I'm going to make an assumption and say
its the New VIA AGP driver that comes with SP2. I'll poke around abit and
see if it is infact VIA driver. Other wise Creative will need to look at
it's current drivers for the above equipment if Win2K SP2 is installed.
