I have a SoundBlaster Live sound card with the Live Drive option.
The Live Drive has a 1/4" mic in/line in jack. I believe this jack is TRS
(tip, ring, sleeve). This unit has the capability to install a jumper on the
board to set it up for dynamic mics, which I installed. I'd like to hook my
Shure SM-57 dynamic mic to this jack, but I'm not positive how to do this.
The S/Blaster help guide gives the wiring as pins 1-mic in, 2-analog ground,
3-mic bias, but I can't figure out how this relates to TRS jacks. I wrote to
Shure and they couldn't answer the question. The mic has an XLR connector
with pin 2 as the hot line.
I don't want to fry my new sound card or the mic, so the question is: What
should the SM-57 XLR to the SoundBlaster Live Drive 1/4'' mic in jack cable
wiring be?  Or.. How does pins 1,2,3 in the help guide relate to tip, ring,
sleeve on the Live Drive Jack.
Any help would be appreciated.
