Yes, MIDI SYNTH A and B are both listed separately, but MIDI SYNTH only offers me the GM font specified in the CREATIVE LAUNCHER. That's only 1 font (with many patches, granted, but GM collections suck, I prefer using individual banks as patches - in other words, Soundfonts). Technically, shouldn't I be able to have 2 separate synths of soundfonts, with the possibility of choosing 32 different fonts? Not only does MIDI SYNTH A and B prevent you from changing patches/fonts, it goes so far as to force you to use the SAME for BOTH (theGM font used as a default in your CREATIVE LAUNCHER settings). Only the patches can be changed, not the bank. This is too silly to be real. That's why I'm assuming there's more than meets the eye here. Cakewalk lists the following devices : SBLIVE MIDI SYNTH A SBLIVE MIDI SYNTH B SOUNDFONT DEVICE etc.. (externals) SBLIVE MIDI SYNTH (A or B) = 1 GM DEFAULT FONT FOR ALL 32 COMBINED CHANNELS SOUNDFONT DEVICE = Choice of ANY FONT for EACH of the 16 channels available. Hence, the original question. Is there a way for me to use more than 16 channels of soundfonts at one time? Or, more appropriately... is there a way for me to make the MIDI SYNTH allow me to use fonts OTHER than the default specified in the Creative Launcher that is forced on both MIDI SYNTH A and B?
