I'm going nust over this card (SoundBlaster Live! Value)

I have a Logitech Wingman Digital Extreme (connected to GamePort) but I
can't get the system to recognice it. I'm 100% sure the Joystick is ok
(tried it on 2 other computers)

NOTE: I can get the Joystick to work if I choose Standard 3axes 4buttons
(or something similar) but then I can only use 1/2 of the buttons! so
it's not an acceptable solution

I'm also having problems with choppy sound
when running the intro (and the movies between the levels) in Quake3Arena

the sound starts of choppy gets worse and worse and after about 5 seconds

the sound just dies!. When playing the game the sound is almost 100% ok,
only when there is lot of sounds playing at the same time I notice the
crackle

the crackling sound is also noticable in Unreal Tournament (but not much,

it's to live with) and in ReBirth RB-338

I've tried:
installing HID-compliant -> same problem
reformating c:\ -> same problem
Installing another Live! Value Card -> same problem
checked ctsyn.ini JoyEnable=True  -> same problem
moving the SB Live! card to another PCI slot -> same problem
as far as I can see there are no IRQ/DMA/etc. conflicts in the system

System
motherboard: Asus P2B
cpu: Intel Celeron 333
graphics: Creative TNT 2 Ultra (same problem with Asus 3400tnt/TV)

Win98 SE
DirectX 7a
Newest Logitech Wingman Digital Extreme Driver
LiveWare 3.0
nVidia Detonator 3.56 (same problem with Creative driver)

Any help is greatly appreciated

PS. and for you Creative people. Please READ what the REAL LIFE people
