My "Very Fast" class modem only connects to CRL's modems at 14.4.
No wonder the thing was so cheap a year ago--I've been told the modem's
protocol isn't supported by most modem manufacturers today. (Though I can
connect to my other ISP at 24000--they're using one of the few modems that
still supports "Very Fast"...)
Get this: I called the modem's manufacturer--Zoom--and they offered to
upgrade my modem. For only $89.00.
Now soliciting modem tips for my coming trip to Fry's....
