The ONLY way to fight the legislation to censor the net is to WRITE and/or PHONE these people IMMEDIATELY! They are Internet illiterates, so any posting you do HERE won't do any good -- that's what's causing this mess to begin with. Get it? Write and/or call today. U.S. SENATORS FROM CALIFORNIA BARBARA BOXER 1700 Montgomery Street #240 San Francisco, CA 94111 - or - 112 Hart Building Washington, DC 20510 (202) 224-3553 DIANNE FEINSTEIN - - - (she may sign on as a SUPPORTER of this bill) 1700 Montgomery Street #305 San Francisco, CA 94111 - or - 331 Hart Building Washington, DC 20510 (202) 224-3841 There are many Representatives in the House, so look in the yellow or white pages of your phone book for the Representative who is in your district.

E-mailing your Senator and, or Representative is almost meaningless. You should write and MAIL your LETTER if you want to do any good at all. David A. Why didn't you find them?

Richard Ottolini wrote the quoted material below: " No, you are. They have net addresses. Why didn't you find them? I've had them all along, both the email and web pages. The point is this: They won't do any good because politicians respond first to TELEGRAMS then to MAIL then to PHONE CALLS. These people don't know anything about the Internet. That's why they're trying to regulate it out of existence. They probably don't even have anyone reading their email but a net junkie who understands the Internet. If you think your job is done by emailing these people, you're wrong. Sure, it *might* help, but please don't stop there. -- (c) 1995 Unless marked "dairy" or "milkshake", it's highly David Kaye likely that the fast food shake isn't made of milk.

Another place for just e-mailing (you can e-mail right from the page):
http://www.webslingerz.com/jhoffman/congress-email.html
For the two California senators, there are web pages:
http://www.senate.gov/~boxer
http://www.senate.gov/~feinstein
Both have email addresses (leave off the "mailto:" if copying):
mailto:senator@boxer.senate.gov
mailto:senator@feinstein.senate.gov
House of Representatives contact info from the source is at:
http://www.house.gov/Whoswho.html
But David Kaye is right about the priorities they give various forms of
contact. Still, unless one can afford to buy "access", like Mr. Keating,
best we can probably hope for is to become another hash mark.
