1. Injury-depleted team still too good for the foreign infidel devils.

2. Vic fielded two teams on one day. Let's see the rest of you do that.

3. SA had a couple of passengers. Every year they pick a few players
   who aren't up to state standard ... in the past they've gotten away
   with it. No more!

4. When will the AFL get serious about state games? In '89 they showed
   signs by scheduling a game on a Saturday at the MCG. That showed
   what happens when we get the favorable conditions too. We want (i)
   state games not too soon after a home-and-away round, and (ii) more
   ground rotation. I'm sick of playing the foreigners on their own
   terms.

5. So the SA selectors got worried about playing so soon after the AFL
   round. So they finally realized it's hard playing two tough matches
   in three days. We've had to do that for years. Play us on equal
   terms and we'll beat you every tie.

6. What an outrage to have Justin Madden captain of a team with Jim
   Stynes in it. Still ... the game showed who is the better player, eh
   what? Incidentally, why wasn't Rod Grinter captain of the A team?

7. Cahill Cahill Cahill ... why give away free ammunition before the
   game? ("Vics are loud-mouthed whingers etc.") But thanks for doing it.
