Interested in baseball? Melbourne University Baseball Club invites both MEN and WOMEN to join the club for the 1999 Winter season. Both experienced and novice players are welcome; the club provides expert coaching to suit all levels. Men's games are on Saturday afternoons, from Saturday April 17th. Women's games are on Sunday afternoons, from Sunday April 18th. The season runs until August, with finals in September. Membership is open to ALL tertiary graduates, current Melbourne University students, University staff, and students of other tertiary institutions that do not support baseball. The club has good training facilities at Melbourne University and at its home ground in Royal Park, and its teams are regularly successful in both men's and women's competition. The club also sends an undergraduate team to contest the annual intervarsity competition (both the baseball and the boat races). The club enjoys regular social functions and activities throughout the year. Training is on Wednesdays at University from 5:00pm to 7:00pm, and every second Sunday at Royal Park from 10:00am to 12:30pm (on Saturdays pre-season). Fees are $40 for students and $60 for non-students, plus Sports Union membership. If interested, please contact Gary Watson [9380 4180 (h)], or Katrina Balzat [9853 0633 (h), kbalzat@kodak.com], or send e-mail to baseball@ariel.unimelb.edu.au.
