: PSD has had a Nazi mentality for quite some time. After Greg Redder left
: PSD to focus on CSU and Brian Weaver took the helm, either Brian or Larry
: Buchanan (or both) started developing a hardnosed attitude...the helper
: mail that Larry and Brian answered carried a MUCH different tone than
: messages answered by Greg when I was a helper. After Larry yanked
: someone's account for having a webpage that went to a site that went to a
: site that went to a site with a warning that it had offensive material, I
: completely lost faith. Some stupid teacher saw a picture of someone
: vomiting after clicking on a link four links away from a PSD student's
: webpage. Utterly ridiculous.
You're forgetting one little variable: the growth of network usage at PSD.
Back when Redder was running it, people on the network were mostly geeks
and teachers who knew how to conduct themselves. Now, everyone and their
dog can get a PSD account, and be stupid with it. Any of this ring a bell
(the problems AOL has caused for the Internet?!)
Of course, I got my account only a few months before Weaver came on; I've
become accustomed to his style of SA; but for the most part, I see no
problem with it. Peopl always complain about loosing accounts and getting
in trouble. These are most often the people who can't read the network
policies: they're very simple, and VERY common sense things...most kids,
it seems are too immature to deal with them, which is an unfortunate side
effect of the general state of our society.

Paul
