Kinda. If not, I do know another way. You'll need three stout men and two large mirrors.... -- +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ Tom Sapienza Thank you, and OK! If that doesn't work, and you really like pain, you can try reversing the address and adding IN-ADDR.ARPA to the end of it... $ nslookup > set querytype=any > 75.100.82.129.IN-ADDR.ARPA. > CTRL-D But you gotta /really/ like pain to do that... (PS: nslookup works just fine as Tom says. Skip the pain. It hurts.) ObMovieQuote: "I like pain." The reason I asked is that someone pointed out the following cool page to me: http://www.colostate.edu/~redder/netmgmt/ Under Traffic Analysis/Interface Stats you can see a graph of the traffic for your gateway, assuming you know which one is your gateway. Problem is, I only know my gateway's IP, not it's name. I was hoping reverse DNS would give me a clue. -- Adam

If reverse mapping exists, they should have done it for you. -- -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- Michael J. tracert!?! )(*&@#$ Microsofties! I've been looking for that NT command for ages. Can't they just use the standard UNIX command names. BASTARDS! Anyway, Dwyer scores again! Is there anything you don't know? Oh, and my subnets gateway isn't registerd, but packets go through csu-gw-1.ACNS.ColoState.EDU and FRGP-GW-1.ColoState.EDU. -- Adam Michael Dwyer wrote: > > Adam Carheden <carheden@holly.colostate.edu> wrote: > : traffic for your gateway, assuming you know which one is your gateway. > : Problem is, I only know my gateway's IP, not it's name. The full Windoze "DOS" list is arp ftp nbtstat netstat ping route tracert winipcfg (windoze via the prompt) command without parameters gets you the assignable parameters on all except winipcfg which launches a window. I use netstat and nbtstat frequently from client boxes. On those that allow interval checks, don't forget you can create a log file of sorts by appending the command and parameters with > c:/logs/logfile.txt or some such.
