Well, I think I've completely buggered-up my system. Oh well, so it goes. So here's the story: Wanted xf86 4.0, got it, built it, installed it, ran it, was happy. For some stupid reason, I decided to mess with KDE and somehow convinced the X server it couldn't (or wouldn't) use DGA. Found this out when xawtv (vido capture program) gave me a warning: Your X server has no DGA support. Tried to reinstall xf86 3.3.5 from the SuSE cd's, but it was even more screwed, long story short, got 4.0 working again with no DGA. Now, I think it may have something to do with v4l. v4l-conf reports: v4l-conf: using X11 display :0 WARNING: Your X-Server has no DGA support. mode: 1024x768, depth=24, bpp=32, bpl=4096, base=unknown done The X server is running at 24bpp, I'm not sure what the difference between depth and bpp are, I thought they were the same thing, but someting isn't jiving somewhere. So I guess my real question is how do I get DGA support working? Is there a manual way to do it, is it a module? I'm really confused as to how all of this works. Any help at all would be appreciated. Thanks, Bryan Kaiser
