I Netscape on Linux, many pages have text where "'" appear as "?". I'm not sure if it happens on Netscape for other platforms. I'm not sure if it happens with IE. All the pages have a similar look, and I know at least some of them were created with Front Page. "'" appear okay on the MS Front Page web site though. Some were also served from IIS and are asp pages. I was thinking character encoding, but isn't an "'" part of the very standard ASCII charset? How could they screw that up? As an example of this phenomenon, look at www.biz.colostate.edu. -- Adam Carheden carheden@holly.ColoState.EDU

They did it the Microsoft way. You are running into smart quotes another wonderful incompatibility brought to you by your friends in Redmond. I don't know off hand how to get around it. I just figure it is a sign of poor web design like no ALT tags and the such. -Eric > > As an example of this phenomenon, look at www.biz.colostate.edu. > > -- > Adam Carheden > carheden@holly.ColoState.EDU
