Student System Administration Position Available at UnixOps UnixOps is looking to immediately fill several student system administrator positions for part-time work during the school year and full-time during breaks. Although experience in system administration is not required, we are looking for applicants with strong backgrounds in computer science (or related fields) and experience in troubleshooting computer related problems. Strong programming experience is also desirable, especially C, Perl, and shell script programming. Besides a strong technical background the successful applicant should have strong "people" skills in order to provide effective service for our customers as well as maintain a relaxed yet professional atmosphere within the UnixOps team. Self-motivation, desire and ability to learn and work with little or no supervision are essential qualities for any UnixOps employee. UnixOps is a service group within the Computing and Network Services that provides UNIX workstation support services to individuals, research groups and departments campus-wide. Besides the system administration support to approximately 300 UNIX workstations, which is our core mission, UnixOps provides a wide range of network services and supports significant portions of the computer infrastructure on the Boulder campus. UnixOps employs four full-time people and about 10 student system administrators. For further information about UnixOps please check out our WWW page at http://boulder/UnixOps/UnixOps.html. Applicants should email resumes to Lucky Vidmar at lucky@Colorado.EDU or bring them to the UnixOps office in the Engineering Center, room ECCH 103 (put them on Lucky's desk).
