There is an organizational / interest meeting in the "Wildnet" at noon on
Friday in the CSEL. Pizza will be provided for students to RSVP to me.

There will be more information available about the meeting later today posted at

This past summer, we installed the "wild net" in the computer science educational
labs. This is a cluster of computers located on the north wall of the CSEL. These
computers will be managed by CSEL students and can be used for whatever purpose
students wish, as long as it's not illegal or contradicting to university policy.

In particular, students will be able to set up web services, experiment with
different networking projects and experiment with different operating systems.
Each system can be configured by students in a very flexible fashion. We expect
he systems can also be used for Sr. Projects or classes - the end policy 
will be determined by the students.

The purpose of this first meeting is to identify people who would be willing to
help in management/policy of the wildnet. One student (Stephen Aiken) is being
supported by the Woz Scholarship to manage the system, but we need more hands to
help decide how and who should be able to use the systems. The end goal is that
faculty won't be involved and that management will be totally up to students.
