Answer is:
it seems, there is no european mirror, but I got a helping hand from
Leo Bicknell <bicknell@ufp.org> (many thanks)
he has a leaner Version of Mosaic 2.7b1 for Ultrix, and it's runnig well on
Ultrix 4.3A and 4.4 (and has less bugs). The best was, I got NO ftp server
timeout.
