Hi !
I have a DECstation 5000/25 with Ultrix 4.2A. I have recently moved to
UGRADE SECURITY level. Everything worked fine except the wu-ftpd which
did not allow ftp for ordinary users.

But the most important problem appeared when discovered a user which had
uid 0. It was installed by the previous system manager. I did the mistake
of removing that accout (login name) using the removeuser script.
After this, when I try to make su I get

dec002.cmpe.boun.edu.tr> su
Unable to find auth record for user root.
Login as root is also impossible

To solve this, I rebooted the machine in single user mode hoping to
modify the root password. But then I got
passwd: cannot execute...

What can I do now?
Waiting for your suggestions and solutions
Regards
