I have a Connor 4326RP 4mm DAT tape drive (4 Gb native capacity). I'm having trouble making backups of a DECstation 5000/200 running Ultrix 4.4. When I attempt to do a dump, it will not use the tape density I specify. The tape drive writes at 6,000,000 bpi, but dump's limit seems to be 61000. If a number higher than this is specified, it uses 61000 as the density. The only way to make a backup is to specify an absurdly long tape length (10000 feet). When I do this, the dump seems to go ok, but I get errors upon restore (for example, "error while skipping inode 225"). Any ideas? Is anyone using this tape drive successfully with a DEC 5000? Thanks. +-----------------------------------------------------------------------+ | Jayson L.
