Brief Summary:
	My trouble was that I couldn't get an RWZ52-FA to work
	on Ultrix 4.4 and I wanted to know why.

	DEC has informed me that the RWZ52-FA Magnetic Optical
	Drive is not supported under Ultrix, but is supported
	in DIGITAL UNIX.  They also informed me that a layered
	product and the license for said product must be purchased
	and installed to get the RWZ52-FA to work on an ALPHA.

	Many thanks to all who offered the obvious and not so
	obvious possible solutions.  I will try the solutions
	suggested for the Ultrix problem on the Alpha before 
	I break down and buy a layered product for the drive.
