The laser will be approved for use in the USA by the FDA soon for the treatment of nearsightedness. There has been much speculation as to how many people would really be interested in the procedure. Michael J. Borer, M.D. of Refractive Centres of California is conducting a survey of US residents who are nearsighted or have astigmatism who have not had a refractive procedure. The Internet offers a unique opportunity to find qualified respondents from around the United States who will, hopefully, answer our questions truthfully and honestly. So far we have received over 100 responses and the results are very enlightening. THIS IS NOT AN AD!! It is a legitimate quest to find out what motivates people to choose either Radial Keratotomy or a Laser Keratectomy procedure -- or to not have any procedure at all. Many estimations have been made in articles in the medical journals, but no one has ever attempted to ask nearsighted people themselves how they actually feel. If you would like to help with our survey, please visit the home page of: Refractive Centres of California http://www.cts.com/browse/mkahuna/survey.html
