UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH ASSISTANT WANTED
Dr. Frank Eparvier at the Laboratory for Atmospheric and Space
Physics (LASP), an institute within CU, is looking for an
undergraduate to assist him with a space physics research project.
The project deals with the effects of energetic particles on the
Earth's upper atmosphere. The work would involve data analysis,
computer programming, and the running of atmospheric models on
a supercomputer. In addition to Dr. Eparvier, the student would
work with scientists at the NOAA Space Environment Center and
NCAR High Altitude Observatory, and would gain valuable experience
with the tools and methods of space science.
Requirements include an enthusiasm for science, a willingness and
ability to learn new computer skills, and the capability to work
20 hours per week during the school year and full time during the
summer. Preference will be given to students with two years or
more before graduation. LASP offers a generous stipend to its
undergraduate research assistants. This position starts as soon
as possible.
