I am looking for a student programmer to write an html form and cgi interface to a Fortran program I have written to simulate genetic linkage data. The tools available include php3, perl, and all standard Unix languages, and also any standard browser-side languages (e.g., JavaScript and Java). The software is to run on a Unix-based Apache web server. This project can be a one-time job, or, if mutually desirable, can result in subsequent contract work, or perhaps even a part-time or full-time position. To merit a part-time or full-time position, the candidate would need some experience with scientific programming, mathematical algorithms, and quantitative genetics. However, there will still be opportunity for further contract work for producing web interfaces should the first project turn out well. This software development work is supported by Public Health Service grant R01-EY-12562 from the National Eye Institute. -- Stacey Cherny
