Hello All,
This is a somewhat belated email/newsgroup announcement of the meeting
of the CU Flying Club. We meet the 1st and 3rd Wednesday of each month
(while school is in session) in the Engineering Center Room
200 at 6:30pm (if room or time are different we will post it on our
website). Check our website for the latest schedule and last minute
changes:

Wednesday October 18th our presenter will be Doug Weibel, of the
Soaring Society of Boulder (glider altitude records have been set in
the nearby foothills, and last years presentation included
interesting video that let you see what it's like to fly a glider).
Everyone is welcome, even if you aren't a pilot. Of course student
pilots and those thinking of taking flying lessons are encouraged to
attend. If you join ($20 per year) you will be eligible for a 5% plane
rental discount at the two local FBOs (Fixed Based
Operators...aviation lingo for a place you can rent a plane or take
lessons). Membership also includes a snazzy t-shirt (we're still
working on the 2001 design but you can always get one of our sharp
looking 1999-2000 t-shirts with our "Flying Buff" logo).
And did I mention? FREE PIZZA AND SODA AT EVERY MEETING
Spread the word to your friends, and we'll hope to see you there!
Regards,
Jay Riley/President, CU Flying Club
